1. Acceptance
By using the Gutenberg Portal you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
2. The service
CD-Publishing provides AI-assisted publishing services in three tiers (Idea to Book, Draft to Book, Polished to Press). The Portal is the digital interface for the engagement.
3. Account & access
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One account per individual; do not share logins.
4. Intellectual property
- You retain copyright to your manuscript, notes, recordings, and other content you upload.
- You grant us a non-exclusive license to use, process, and display your content as needed to deliver the service.
- The Portal software, design, and brand belong to CD-Publishing.
5. AI features
Scribe synthesis, Observatory exec summaries, marketing kit generation, audio transcription, and other AI features use Google Vertex AI. Generated text is not warranted to be factually accurate or free of errors. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it.
6. Acceptable use
Do not: upload content you don't have rights to, attempt to break the service, send abusive messages to staff, or use the AI features to generate harmful, infringing, or illegal content.
7. Fees
Fees, payment terms, refund policy, and engagement scope are set by the separate written agreement between you and CD-Publishing.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate per the engagement agreement. We retain the right to suspend access for misuse. On termination we will provide your data export within 14 days; see the Privacy Policy for retention specifics.
9. Warranty disclaimer
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. AI-generated content is provided for assistance, not as professional advice.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the service is limited to the fees paid by you to CD-Publishing in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email and posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
